Greektown Casino-Hotel Transitions to Hollywood Casino at Greektown

The Greektown Casino-Hotel was rebranded to Hollywood Casino at Greektown in May 2022, but the complete transition is still underway. Before rebranding it, the company behind this casino (Penn National Gaming/Penn Entertainment) started a renovation/remodeling project. Due to its scope, this process is still not completed, but several areas of the casino were unveiled in the last few months.
Among other additions, the renovated hotel lobby, which includes Detroit-themed decorations, was opened in March 2022. The initial renovation budget was set at $30 million, $1 million of which were spent on renovating the self-park and VIP parking garages with over 700 spaces created for high-tier players.
Besides that, Hollywood Casino now has a brand new cocktail bar. It plans on adding several other new restaurants and bars, including Rock Bar and Urban Cocktail. Probably the most time-consuming part of the renovation project was the thorough remodeling of the 400 rooms. Almost all of these rooms are now available to visitors.
Penn Entertainment leases and manages many casinos across the US. Hollywood Casino at Greektown in Detroit, Michigan, has become one of their primary brands. Hollywood Casino is a land-based partner of one of the gambling sites in MI, Barstool Sportsbook & Casino.
