Thomas Winter, the creator of Golden Nugget Online Gaming, made his resignation from the company public earlier this week.
Winter felt it was time to retire ten years after creating GNOG, which grew in the online gaming market until being acquired by DraftKings 18 months ago.
Winter left a lasting impact by starting GNOG from scratch and assisting two Michigan-based online casinos with brand development.
Winter Transformed GNOG into a Billion-Dollar Business
On his LinkedIn page, Winter posted a notice of his leaving. Winter stated that it is now time for him to close this remarkable chapter of his life and begin a new one, this time focused on the latter part of work-life balance, ten years after founding GNOG, three years after going public, and two years after its acquisition by the all-powerful DraftKings Inc.
Before the company went public in 2020, Winter launched Golden Nugget Online Gaming in September 2013 and developed it into the top online casino in NJ.
DraftKings first announced its intention to purchase GNOG in August 2021, and the transaction was finalized for $1.56 billion in May 2022.
Winter continued to work with the organization as General Manager of North American iGaming, assisting DraftKings in strengthening its position in the domestic market.
