With $181.9 Million, Michigan Casinos Set a Record for Online Revenue in January
In Michigan, online casinos set yet another record at the beginning of 2024. Through slots, poker, and table games, the 15 MI state-licensed online casinos> brought in a total of $181.9 million in revenue in January.
The figure is barely 0.3% over the previous monthly high of $181.4 million, which was achieved in December 2023.
The revenue for January 2023 was $153.7 million, a record for that month, therefore the January number represents an 18.3% increase from that figure.
January 2024: Revenue from Online Casinos
For the third month in a row, MI online casinos have broken monthly records with their impressive revenue.
- Revenue from online casinos increased by 0.3% to $181.9 million in December;
- December online casino tax payments: $11.4 million to local entities and $30 million to the state;
- BetMGM Online Casino Michigan has the most revenue of any online casino app, at $48.3 million.
Another Record Broken
For the third month in a row, online casino revenue continues to soar, hitting new monthly records.
The trend began in November with $175.3 million. With $181.4 million, it was exceeded in December but was topped in January.
This is the first time Michigan has had three consecutive months of at least $175 million in iGaming revenue. March of 2023 was the only other occasion it exceeded $170 million.
70% of Income Comes from the Big Three
Despite not setting a new operator record, the three major Michigan online casino operators each had strong January results:
- BetMGM Online Casino Michigan: $48.3 million;
- FanDuel Online Casino Michigan: $42.9 million;
- DraftKings Online Casino Michigan: $36.8 million;
- $127.5 million in total.
That sum represents 70.1% of all MI operators’ aggregate revenue for the month.
